Adding A Prediction/Promise

To make this form represent a promise, the only thing you need to do is to click on the "Promise" tab on the second page of this form and check the box: "Yes, it is a promise". Otherwise, we assume that this futuristic declaration is a prediction. If this is YOUR prediction, you will only need to fill in the Title (In the future) and Expiration Date. You can, and encouraged, to add a description to your prediction, image to represent it and other post-enhancing features described below.

Who can add a predictions? Anyone who is a member of u4See and guests as anonymous.

1. In the future: This is where you add your prediction or the promise. If this is a quote, bring the original (or closest) wording, as it was declared by the person you are quoting.

2. Expiration: Set the Expiration Date to the date this prediction will come to an end. This date can be extended or shortened at any time and you will receive an email notification to close this prediction with a result.

3. Predictor: If this is a quote and not your own prediction or promise, specify who you quote, and possibly who reported first this prediction. Try typing the predictor's name and if it exists in the system it will come up.

4. Proofs: Prove your quote by adding links to the online page(s) you are citing from. Our bot will fetch the screenshot of the page you cite from and will save it under this prediction after you save it. If you want to add your own screenshot, use the option to add a file.

5. Close the prediction: On Expiration Date, you, as the owner of this prediction, will receive an email asking you to go ahead and set the result of the prediction. When you choose a result and submit the form, an automated email will be sent to all people who signed up to follow this prediction, informing them about your changes. Make sure you add an explanation to the result and links to Proofs that support your result.

6. Learn the statistics and earn points: Each prediction can end as: 'Came True', 'Proved False' or 'Canceled or 'Partially Proved True'. The result of your prediction will influence the success rate (u4See Score) of the person whom you quoted (or yourself, if it is your own prediction) and of the individuals who voted on this prediction. In case of success, Predictor gets 100 point and voter 50 points. There are no deductions of points if a prediction was proved false or canceled. Nevertheless, for both the predictor and the voter, the u4See Score, regardless of the accumulated points, will always be adjusted when a prediction was closed with a result.

7. Moderation: Members of u4See can rank the difficulty of predictions as 'Easy', 'Moderate' or 'Hard'. Our algorithms take this voting into consideration when compiling the u4See Score of the predictor and the voters.
